Well, keep on reading as we've curated the top 8 content creation tools and techniques that will allow you to connect with your online personal training clients.

As we looked at in The Personal Trainers Guide to Content Marketing, understanding the power of content will allow you to generate leads organically, without paying for ads on Facebook, or Google. So, to help you save time writing quality content and learn some new inbound techniques along the way, we’ve compiled 8 of our favorite content creation tools.

1. Google Search

This is a quick hack to find both content ideas and find out what people are searching for on Google. When you type in the Google search bar, Google will come up with popular topics people are searching for. Start typing in some ideas and see what comes up.

Additional to this is to scroll down to the bottom of the Google search page, where Google will tell you what other people search for. This is great when searching for content angles and ideas for your PT business.

2. Google Trends

The next step from using the Google search bar suggestions is to use Google Trends. Google Trends is a free tool that allows you to search for and review what is currently trending on the search engine.

It allows you to segment the data via region and category and you can also go back in time to see the historical trend of a certain term. Using this tool to help you with your content research and will allow you to feel more confident that the content you're creating is relevant to current searches and your audience.

Give it a try, put your own keywords into Google Trends so you can match your content strategy with Google’s massive search data.

3. SparkToro

SparkToro is a powerful audience research tool. It crawls millions of social and website profiles to find what your audience reads, watches, follows, and shares online. The first five searches are free, so give it a try.

Let’s say your target audience regularly talks about personal fitness. SparkToro can tell us what this audience talks about online, the hashtags they use, and phrases that they are actively talking about. Not just that, it also tells us the social accounts they follow and the websites they visit. This is great for getting inspiration for your next fitness blog.

The more you create content for your online personal trainer business around your target audience’s needs, the more engagement and ultimately clients you'll be able to get.

4. Grammarly

Often the one thing that's forgotten when creating content (and the one thing that is sure to put people off of your content) is creating mistake-free content that makes sense.

Grammarly can help you make sure everything you write not only has accurate spelling, punctuation, and grammar. But it also looks at the focus and tone of your content. So for example, if you know your audience would prefer a conversational tone, Grammarly is able to help ensure your content is suited for your audience

5. Trello

The more content you create the harder it will be to keep track of what you want to write, what you are working on, and what has been published.

Trello is a collaboration and project management tool, that keeps you organized. They've even created an editorial calendar Trello board for you to copy and use. You can add and remove the columns, but keeping all of your content ideas here will ensure you have a central place for all future content plans.

6. Piktochart

A great way to visualize your content is to create an infographic. They are a popular way to curate your content, and also (if tagged correctly) are a good boost to your SEO. Of course, not all of us can afford a designer to create these.

That is where software like Piktochart can help you create amazing infographics that not only look professional but will also help boost your content strategy.

7. Giphy

Struggling to find that perfect GIF that would go perfectly with your latest social post, blog, or client chat. Giphy is a treasure trove of popular and trending GIFs to help add an edge to your content. If you need something, search for it and you will find what you are looking for.

8. Unsplash

The final piece of the content checklist. A powerful image to add to your blog post, or social post will increase your engagement. But you also need to be careful not to add any images that could be copyrighted.

Unsplash is a source of freely-usable images which you can use across all of your marketing channels.
